From the Principal

Dear Parents, Carers and Friends of All Saints,

It was wonderful to have many parents and friends at our Leadership Assembly last Friday.
The All Saints Children’s Leadership Group for 2020 were very nervous, however they managed to lead the assembly demonstrating their skills.  The staff were delighted to have so many children receiving awards for their dedication to their learning, care of their environment, looking after each other and bravery and courage in the face of adversity.

From the Director of Welbeing

Recently I read an article about how much sleep children and teens need and how we support them to get enough. There have been changed recommendations for how much sleep children and teens need. Australian Sleep associations have accepted recommendations from the US based National Sleep Foundation that there is more individual variation than previously thought regarding the amount of sleep required for young people.

Focus on 2DT FRONT PAGE.png

Focus on 2DT

In 2DT we have been exploring the All Saints Symbol and values. Why we have an All Saints logo and what it means. We then unpacked what each element represents and why it is important to the All Saints community.

Children then created the All Saints symbol using different materials, such as plasticine and natural objects.

What can you see in the symbol?
A cross - Jessica
Kind of a shape like an ‘s’ but shaped the other way - Layla
It has the cross through the middle - Zac
The place where it is standing on is like waves - Layla

Do you know what each element on the All Saints symbol represents?
I think the cross represents the church - Ivy
I think the cross represents God and Jesus - Tahlia
I think the fire represents the spirit and the water represents the spirit again - Abigail

Tell me about the All Saints symbol you created……..
We made ours out of animals because God looks after animals - Riley
We looked at the All Saints symbol on the board and we counted how many waves there was and did 5 layers of rocks - Zac
I tried to point out the waves, then bended up and then I got some of the blue and rolled into a wiggly worm shape - Layla
I made my symbol in the sign of the cross and I made it to show God loves me - Ellula
It is a 3D one and it can stand up - Jessica
This represents the life of Jesus because he died on the cross and the sky means for God - Tennayah
Mine represents God and Jesus because they represent our land and they were really kind to others - Tahlia
The ‘S’ represents spirit and the ocean represents all the animals that got made - Sienna
Sannanah and I did team work, we copied the picture that was on the board and we tried to make it stand up but it didn’t work so we had to make it stronger - Abigail and Savannah

From the APRIM

It is the end of week 4 already! Time flies when you’re having fun.

Last week we officially introduced and congratulated the CRCs from Reception to Year 5 and it was our Year 6 Children’s Leadership Group who ran this assembly; leadership for children, by children. At this same assembly we also recognised children who attended school every single day last year. Wow! And our first batch of Saint Awards were presented to our community.
